Meet Ruda!

A likeable little ship, known at Lloyd’s Register of Shipping as ‘Official Number 166177’, but to her friends, she’s known simply as ‘Ruda’!

Ruda is a twin screw motor yacht built in 1938 at the Shoreham yard of

H T Stow as the first boat of their newly designed ‘Adur’ Class of cruiser.

Ruda's History

Ruda (Lloyd’s official number 166177) was built in 1938 at the yard of H T Stow in Shoreham, W. Sussex as the first boat of their newly designed ‘Adur’ Class of cruiser.

Ruda's Travels

For over a decade, Ruda cruised extensively in  Europe, visiting fourteen countries and ten capital cities during a voyage of over 20,000Km. Here you can explore some of the places she visited during her travels.

Ruda has been in the care of her current owners for thirty years, during which time she has proven herself to be a comfortable and capable long distance, live-aboard cruiser. On her travels she has explored the coasts, canals and rivers of many countries, had countless adventures, and made many treasured friendships.

Now Ruda is impatient to set off voyaging once again, and is looking for a new crew to take her. If you are ready to catch the next tide, and to write further chapters in the story of this likeable little ship, then we’d love to hear from you.
